É com enorme satisfação que vos informamos da presença em Lisboa de Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche.

Tenga Rinpoche nasceu em 1932 em Kham, no Tibete oriental. A sua educação decorreu inicialmente nos Mosteiros de Benchen e Palpung, sob orientação do 9º Sangye Nyempa Rinpoche (irmão de Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche), e dos anteriores Situ Rinpoche e de Jamgon Rinpoche. Posteriormente, estudou com muitos outros Mestres e completou os seus estudos com um retiro de 3 anos. Foi também discípulo de Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche e de Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche.

Após deixar o Tibete, em 1959, instalou-se em Sikkim no Mosteiro de Rumtek. Aí, Tenga Rinpoche serviu durante 17 anos S. S. o XVI Karmapa. Desde 1976, Tenga Rinpoche vive no Nepal, onde estabeleceu o Mosteiro Benchen Phuntsok Dargyeling e um Centro de Retiros em Pharping (http://www.benchen.org/home). É também o fundador de Centros na Polónia, em Itália e na Alemanha.

Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche é um dos poucos Mestres detentores da linhagem não interrompida da tradição Karma Kagyu do Budismo Tibetano. A sua visita a Portugal constitui uma oportunidade rara e preciosa para contactar com um grande Mestre da actualidade.
Rinpoche falará em Tibetano, que será traduzido para Inglês e posteriormente Português.

We are delighted to announce the visit of Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche to Lisbon.

Tenga Rinpoche was born in 1932 in Kham (Eastern Tibet). He received his education at Benchen and Palpung monasteries, under the guidance of the 9th Sangye Nyempa Rinpoche (brother of Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche) and the previous Situ Rinpoche and Jamgon Rinpoche. Thereafter, Tenga Rinpoche studied with many other Masters and completed his studies with a 3 year retreat. Rinpoche was also a disciple of Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche.

In 1959, after leaving Tibet, he settled in Rumtek monastery (Sikkim). There, he served H.H. the 16th Karmapa for 17 years. Since 1976, Tenga Rinpoche has been living in Nepal, where he established the Benchen Phuntsok Dargyeling Monastery and the Pharping retreat Centre (http://www.benchen.org/home). He is also the founder of Centres in Poland, Italy and Germany.

Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche is one of the few Masters who holds the unbroken lineage of the Karma Kagyu Tibetan Buddhist tradition. His visit to Portugal is a rare and precious opportunity to be in the presence of a great Teacher.
Rinpoche will speak in Tibetan, to be translated into English and then Portuguese.
